Technology-Based Islamic Education Research: A Bibliometric Analysis of Global Trends
Keywords:
Islamic education, educational technology, bibliometric analysis, e-learningAbstract
Digital transformation has driven significant changes in various fields, including Islamic education, which is now increasingly integrated with technology. This study aims to analyze global trends, publication developments, and collaboration patterns in technology-based Islamic education research using a bibliometric approach. The method used is bibliometric analysis by collecting publication data from reputable scientific databases over a specific time period. The data was analyzed using software such as VOSviewer and Biblioshiny to identify keyword trends, productive authors, institutions, countries, and research collaboration networks. The results show a significant increase in the number of publications related to technology-based Islamic education, especially since the era of digital learning and the global pandemic. Dominant topics include e-learning, blended learning, interactive multimedia, and the integration of Islamic values in educational technology. Countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and several Middle Eastern countries are major contributors in this field. Furthermore, a shift in research focus was found from conventional approaches to digital-based innovation and the development of interactive learning media. The implications of this study indicate that technology integration in Islamic education has great potential to improve the quality of learning, but still requires strengthening in pedagogical aspects, educator competencies, and the development of contextual and Islamic value-based learning models.
